Aere perEnnius

Longer lasting than bronze; this is a possible translation of the Latin verse by Ovid.

The music is full of contrasts: a calm, dreamlike introduction leads to a rhythmic section in which strings and winds dance restlessly and unpredictably. A more intimate adagio, with its echoes of waltzes, and ancient laments, ends the work.

Aere perEnnius (2018)  was dedicated to m° Ennio Morricone, on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
